Own the Wind: A Chaos Novel

So here it is, another amazing book, with an amazing cast of characters telling an amazing story. I have to say that KA has done it again! She is so good at blending the alpha males, and recently throwing in some alpha females as well. I think that she is also very good at telling those grey stories. Where there is not always right and wrong, but a lot of contextual right and wrong. I am really excited that she has decided to enter the Motorcycle Club world, after reading some other books about these men, I am definitely intrigued, and it appears that KA knows how to do them right as well.
Tabby Allen, daughter of Chaos motorcycle club president Tack Allen, is hell on high heels. She is young, and has made some bad decisions, especially about the people she chooses to associate with . And we first meet her she is so wild, and ready, until she is finally hit with a slap of reality, and then everything changes for, her and about her. But one thing was sure about Tabby she had a serious crush on Shy Cage the young brother in the Motocycle club. I think what I liked about her, cause that she understood the lifestyle so well, having grown up in it, she got what it was to be an ‘old lady’ in the club.
There’s only one kind of biker, Shy, but there are three kinds of old ladies. One lets her man walk all over her. One turns into a bitch...And one give but also expects to her take.”
That is just the right amount of sass to be an old lady. Now I want to say that the relationship that develops between Tabby and Shy really develops and slowly. No instalove here, nope it was painstaking for me wondering when these two were finally going to get together. Unfortunately, it took a very serious tragedy to get Tabby into Shy’s arms, and even after that, there were times in there where I wasn’t sure they were really going to make it.
"Something to know about me, I use electric, always, but if I’m in a situation, say now, where you have to hit Walgreens, I want a pink toothbrush and whitening toothpaste.”
Now Shy while now holds a special place in my heart, there were lots of times in this book when I just wanted to punch him in the nuts. Now while Shy’s back story is downright depressing, he is downright mean at times. And even worse, he has a temper. And then that temper flares up, you don’t want to be in the vicinity. And what he says is almost always very very raw.
“You and me may not have been tight since the day we first saw each other, but am I the kind of guy who hangs around listenin’ to bitches moan about work while ruining a dinner I gotta eat?”
or
"He just survived Afghanistan, sugar, don’t think he needs to come home and have you kill him with your cooking.”
But I have to admit that even with language like that Shy was so sweet. He made eveything so much better so many times for Tabby. When their relationship is threatened by outside sources, it becomes easy to see why the temper tantrums can be ignored.
May feel like you’re fallin’, Tabby, but remember, I’m at the bottom ready to catch.”
Swoon much? That was just one of the many times he just stole my breath. I have to say that I completely understood why Tabby loved him like she did. And the same can be said for why he loved her as much as he did. The two of them were such a great couple. The way they supported each other was so sweet and at the same so just them.
"Gotta say, baby,” he murmured. “You’re beautiful always but you’re seriously fuckin’ beautiful when you’re takin’ me.”
“Gotta say, darlin’,” I murmured back huskily. “You’re handsome always, but you’re seriously handsome when you’re giving it to me.”
So this might just be my new favorite KA book, in these pages I have found just some of the best scenes ever. It had everything lots of laughter, anger, sad, anxiety and the awesomeness that is KA steamy. It was just the kind of book to put to shame so many other romance books that are coming out right now. I loved it and I hope that everyone whether you are a die hard KA fan, or just looking for possibly the best romance of the year, Check this book out!
“I’m with him because when I’m with him, I’m free to be me. I’m with him because he’s hot. I’m with him because he lets me blather, since I’m prone to blathering, and he lets me rant when I have a bad day. I’m with him because when I rant, he makes me feel better and he does this effortlessly. I’m with him because I live for the times when I’m on the back of his bike and we’re riding together, not even talking, just us."
