A Beautiful Lie (Playing with Fire Series) (Volume 1)

A Beautiful Lie (Playing with Fire Series) (Volume 1) - T.E. Sivec So, I was told that this book was really good, and as a fan of Tara Sivec's Chocolate Lovers Series, I thought well at least I'll laugh. Well one of those statements was correct, and one was wrong. This book was just really good. It was freaking awesome! I love when an author can so easily mix romance and thriller, and this one had me dizzy and in pain from the whiplash I sustained due to the twists and turns being thrown at me. Great characters, great plot, great sex scenes (even the more awkward ones), just a really good book, that I think I will add to my collection of go-to rereads.

So we start off in a very bad place, Annabella Parker (herein known as Parker) lost her fiancee 6 months ago, and is trying her hardest to move on. It's her birthday, the their BFF, comes to continue a tradition that her husband started 8 years ago - dinner at her favorite restaurant, and the rest, is amazeballz! So Parker is a kickass female, with some really really deep, yet extremely awesome secrets. The one I will divulge to you? She has been in love with her dead fiancee's best friend from the moment that they met 8 years ago. And hiding and harboring these feelings now that Milo is gone, proves to be very difficult. Now, their best friend, has died under mysterious circumstances, and so Parker and the amazing Garrette decide they are going to go and find out what really happened in the Dominican Republic all those months ago.

But he doesn't look at you like he just wants to be friends, little ninja. He looks at you like you're the key to his soul and like he wants to devour you."

Garette is just the kind of guy that I wish I really knew. He is hot, and has a flirty way about him, that just makes me shiver. I really enjoyed him, and his sense of loyalty to both his BFFs. He is a fantastic character, so sweet even when he was just pretending to be Parker's husband. I loved how he knew her so well, he knew when to be serious and when to be flirty, and most of all I knew that he loved her. That was so evident in the gifts that he got her. they were always so specific and thoughtful, it was clear that he really paid attention to her, unlike her fiancee. Overall I don't think that there are too many guys out there like Garette. Though I do want to warn you that he does have a tendency to be very mean, and honest, but stick with him, I promise his good outweighs his bad.

So if you loved the Chocolate Lovers series, or even if you hated it, please give this one a try, I think that Tara Sivec has a bright future ahead if she keeps producing books like this one. She really knows how to tell great, entertaining, realistic stories. This book about Beautiful Lies was a book about a Beautiful romance with just the most beautiful characters. I want more!
