Reading is synonymous to breathing for me, I usually have my head in book, and if its not, I'm probably regretting not having my head in a book.

Once Burned

Once Burned - Jeaniene Frost Tavia Gilbert - you are awesome you made this audiobook even better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stealing Rose

Stealing Rose - Monica Murphy ARC provided by author via NetGalley

While I must say I enjoyed the plot of this book, I have to say that towards the end got a lil too predictable. But I did love both of these characters, I think Caden was really sweet and overall a great character, being a thief out of a warped sense of responsibility, and embracing his place in life. Rose was sweet, very strange at times (not wearing underwear with dresses?) but I think she was just trying to find her place. I don't regret reading this one, it was cute but very forgettable.

Angelfall

Angelfall - Susan Ee So I know I’m the only person who wasn’t blown away by this book. I had a few issues with the book on a whole.

I just didn’t feel any chemistry between Raffe and Peryn, at no point did i feel like she should save him or he should save her, i just didn’t get why they were together for so long.
There were a few loopholes in this story, the one that really got to me; that Raffe couldn’t pick up his own sword at the the end, how is that even possible?
The scenes were disjointed, even the phrases used, like why would angels call human monkeys? why not just humans in a condescending tone? It was weird.
I kept waiting for something to happen, and NOTHING HAPPENED! I mean we got the very beginning of something happening in the last 10%, so why was the middle filled with not much of anything?
I think my biggest problem with this book was over the moon expectations, I held off cause I felt like everyone loving the book might be a problem. Dr. Sheldon Cooper was right:

So I guess it wasn’t that great for me, gonna put some space between this book and the next…
I will admit Raffe is super hot, I do love a tortured soul.

Untitled

Untitled - Suzanne Wright So another wonderful experience with the Phoenix Pack, I have to say that Roni and Marcus were the couple with the least amount of drama between them. I really enjoyed the fact that they were both attracted to each other, admitted that, and then acted on it. While they both had their hangups about relationships, but neither was willing to deny their attraction to each other.

Roni is my fave of the Phoenix Girls (though she’s not technically one). I think I’m drawn to her geeky, awkward personality. She wants to fit in, but even with all of her intelligence she can’t seem to figure it out. Except when it comes to her brothers, I fell in love the Axton trio, and how different they are but that they have an underlying goodness to them. I feel they love each other, and are confused as to how to show that love. But being the only girl with 2 mischievous brothers has caused Roni to be a very very good at pranking.

Marcus is just the sexiest of the Phoenix pack thus far (Can’t wait for Dominic’s book tho…) and yet there is a vulnerability to him that we never saw before. One that makes him so loveable, and so amazing. I couldn’t believe how sweet and caring Marcus was towards Roni. He loved everything about Roni that she thought were flaws. And he was never doubted what they could be together.

I have to say that as this groups grows, or we get to know them better I love them just a bit more. This was truly a wonderful addition to this series.

Holding Strong

Holding Strong - Lori Foster ARC provided by Harlequin via NetGalley in exchange for review

I have come to the conclusion that Lori Foster can so no wrong when it comes to Romance and fighters. Denver Lewis is just so freaking hot, and so awesome. I loved the way in which their story unfolded, especially because they were basically together from the 3rd chapter, and it was really just building up the foundation of the relationship. Cherry is a fantastic heroine because she was so determined to get Denver, that she just went for it, and that makes her stand out in my mind. I must say that I love the way that the upcoming stories are weaved into this one, we get to know those characters from before better. I am so anxious for Armie's book, but I think that Stack and Vanity will be fun as well. It was great seeing Harper and Cooper again as well as Yvette and Cannon. And this book had the added surprise of Dean (Havoc) and Simon who I adore so much from the SBC series.

Can't wait for the next book! I'M REALLY loving this series so far.

The Viper

The Viper - Kele Moon So excited about this series!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I have to be upfront, I just want to get to Nova's book, but I have to say that though Marcos came out of left field, I really really like him. I think that his intertwined story with the main characters was a nice distraction. I thought that both him and Katie were so perfect, I loved them together. I will say that I think that their relationship was definitely fiction, but I have found the same issues with all of these books, the fact is they were able to make a relationship out of some really extraordinary circumstances.

I have to say that I hate that Jules is ALWAYS a bitch to everyone, that's getting kinda old now, so I hope that she's a bit more supportive of Alaine and Chuito cause then she'll just be annoying. I have to say that it was nice seeing all my Garnet characters especially Romeo and Tino, can't wait for the next book!

Untitled

Untitled - Tiffany Reisz ARC provided by Harlequin via NetGalley

Tiffany Reisz has done it again, another adventure inle the world of the OS. I have to say that this story took us all on a very unique ride. I have to say that it took me a while to really get into the story, and it was really more about the side stories than the main story. But overall this book was unique on so many levels, it was one of those books that pulls you in, and you just can’t imagine letting go. The deep human spirit story reminded me a lot of the line of the Angel. I have to say that I loved the idea of Nora writing a book parallel to the storylines. It was a storyline that I loved in The Siren, and I love how much the story is enhanced by that idea of the book.

Kingsley you are the reason I keep coming back, in the red years it was Nora but in the white years its you. I want to both top you and bottom for you. ANYDAY ANYTIME. I used to think Nora was the luckiest bitch alive… then I met Juliette, for sure its her. She is THE LUCKIEST BITCH ALIVE

If you thought that you knew Kings, Nora and Soren, think again cause you don’t. You know NOTHING about them!

Vanilla

Vanilla - Megan Hart ARC provided by Harlequin via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

“Why do you do that?”
“It’s not something I do….It’s who I am.”

This book was so amazing. Megan Hart is just one of the best writers out there today. I have to say that this book did not make me cry as much as the others. Instead she took me on one of the most perfect journeys into the life of someone who has different sexual preferences. I have to say that until this book I never even considered how weird it is that people are so overly fascinated with those who have dom/domme preferences. I love how honest, and open Elise was with the people around her. I love that she's not ashamed of who she is, or how she loves.

“I am the sum of many parts.”
“We all are.”
I smiled. “True.”
“Some of my parts would like to get to know some of yours a lot better.” Niall said.

Niall was just a great male lead (in the pool of males of this book). He was so sweet, and kind and caring, and just so damn thoughtful. I could really see his side of the story as well, and I think that is a craft that Megan Hart is so damn talented in wielding. I have to say that reading this book never felt like fiction, every choice seemed so real, every character so well crafted that I could not find a flaw that didn’t below.

In the end, only three things matter. How much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of that which is not meant for you.

Another amazing, unforgettable, touching story, about people who are just trying to find love even when they think they don't want it.

Don't Deny Me: Part Three: A Novel in Three Parts

Don't Deny Me: Part Three: A Novel in Three Parts - Megan Hart So I got really scared towards the end of this book, cause we were at 87% and they were still not TALKING to each other about things that mattered!!!!!!!!!!

But I think that Alice was ultimately the one who had to make the first move, it had always been her, and she needed to be the one who had to talk first. I knew Mick would never do it, and I thought Alice would be an idiot to let this happen this way.

I have to say this, the one thing that I have constantly praised MH for is writing about real people, and more than anything else, this was a story about what can really go wrong in a relationship when people assume things, when people don't see that the other person is doing their best. It ultimately is what will happen if one of the two people isn't willing to put themselves out there. I also think another big problem was that Mick didn't know that him being afraid to say things to Alice was a hindrance, he thought he was doing all these things for her, but the truth was she didn't need any of those things, she needed him to talk to her and tell her that he loved her, and that he wanted to be with her. I think this entire series was really a lesson in the need for us to know ourselves, and to be upfront about the things we want and the things we need.

Well done MH!

Don't Deny Me: Part Two: A Novel in Three Parts

Don't Deny Me: Part Two: A Novel in Three Parts - Megan Hart So I'm not sure, how to descibe how I feel about this book, the truth is, I actually liked this story more than the first one. Maybe because it was the beginning the How We Met story, I got to understand the ins and outs of a relationship that ended so many years ago, and even more importantly why it ended. And I have to say i think this series should be called - "Don't Call Me...Or maybe you should..." I think MH does a great job of presenting both sides to the story, and in the end you will have to like one character, and not like the other, because you can identify with one more, the truth is I identify more with Mick, so I felt for him, and I understood why he would get so frustrated with her at times. The man problem with their relationship really is MISCOMMUNICATION!

Off to see who this all ends.

Loyalty In Death

Loyalty In Death - Nora Roberts (Writing as J. D. Robb) I get why people keep coming back for more. Listening to these audiobooks is actually addicting I can't even work sometimes if I don't hear these characters. So I enjoyed so many things about this installment. Firstly Peabody's brother comes to visit and we get to see a whole different side to her. Also, her love life heats up, and though I saw it coming I want a lot more before they end (or don't end cause I like them together) I just think Peabody is such a fun character.

The main murder mystery storyline was really convoluted this time, and I saw it going in so many directions before it ended, but I didn't see that ending at all. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.

Eve and Roarke as usual were awesome, they are just such a great and fun couple, and I think the way that their relationship is progressing is awesome. Even the little hiccups are perfect cause we see serious character development with the resolution of each of them. I love Roarke he is just such a great leading man, he makes so many others seem so out there.

Loved it! Can't wait for the next book.

Don't Deny Me: Part One: A Novel in Three Parts

Don't Deny Me: Part One: A Novel in Three Parts - Megan Hart ARC provided by Harlequin via NetGalley

I'm not sure what is it that was a miss with this book. MH usually starts her books in the middle of hte story, but this time I just had a hard time connecting with the characters, I read through, and there were some things that I really liked and enjoyed, however, I have to say that it was not the case for the book overall. There feels like there is something missing between Mick and Alice, I get that they are super attracted to each other but I don't feel it, the hot and cold was not working for me. I will say that I have some hope for the next book , but I really dont understand what is going on between them, or what went on between them, and I'm starting to suspect it didn't need a 10-year break cause it doesn't feel like infedelilty (which is the only reason for a 10-year break, yes I said that) but we'll see...

Aftershock

Aftershock - Sylvia Day This was a really gret story, it was hot, funny, familiar, and fun. So… why three stars? Well for one thing this was only half a book, I think SD would’ve gotten more stars out of me if she’d released these two stories as one book. I really liked the dynamics of both Gia and Jackson’s circles. But this really didn’t need two separate books cause they both were so incomplete. I really like Gia she is very New Yorkesque. Everything about her screamed New Yorker, even her stubborn attitude, and her I will get this done responses to everything. Jackson was well developed as well… I loved the wasp exterior with that dirty mouth interior. I have to say that overall this was a great story, I just wish it came as one book, it took me more than a year to pick up aftershock cause I was so disappointed. But I was happy that I did pick it up. I hope that Gia’s brothers get their books soon, at least Nico cause I love him. And also Deanna needs a story cause if not she’s going to go down in my mind as a B-I-T-C-H from hell.

Conspiracy in Death

Conspiracy in Death - J.D. Robb This is my fave book of the series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This book was a personal attack on Eve like never before. And the case was one of a kind, not only that I think this is the first time we’ve ever seen Eve break down into pieces she was shattered. I think even Roarke got scared, but of course he was just as sexy and as in control when he had to be, but I think this was a turn in their relationship. The very first time that Roarke ever got to see Eve be so broken down the way she was, hurting and he had very little that he could do to help her, all his resorces and money could not help them. But I think that this entire book was a major step for them as a couple, Eve finally needed Roarke, and he was there for her in the best way ever. He supported and yelled at her, and got her back on her feet, with love. I will say that as a scientist, this was also hard to read, why is it that the scientists have to sound so crazy, why can’t they be more normal?

My fave book in the series so far, can’t wait for the next one.

Harlequin E Shivers Box Set Volume 4: The HeadmasterDarkness UnchainedForget Me NotQueen of Stone

Harlequin E Shivers Box Set Volume 4: The HeadmasterDarkness UnchainedForget Me NotQueen of Stone - Tiffany Reisz, Jane Godman, Barbara J. Hancock, Jen Christie What a wild ride, it took me a while to get all the stories read cause they were very different, and very spooky but I loved each one in their own way, anyone who is a fan of the horror genre should give this set a read.

Golden Son

Golden Son - Pierce Brown "For seven hundred years my people have been enslaved without voice, without hope. Now I am their sword. And I do not forgive. I do not forget, So let him lead me onto this shuttle. Let him think he owns me. Let him welcome into his house, so I might burn it down."

This book was such an adventure. I think Pierce Brown has really built a word that is truly unforgettable. I cannot believe that so much could happen in just one book. After building the world of RR, it is clear that there was so much more for us to see of this universe. And who could be a better guide than Darrow?

"Mother bid me to tell you: a pauper can never be a prince. Every time you look in the mirror remember that."

So we meet Darrow 3 years after the events of the last book, he has been living and working for the house of Augustus, and has been doing very well. But I think it was so clear that Darrow had a mission in mind. He was focused, but still going through lots of motions.

"I'll be Odysseus. You be Achilles."
"Achilles dies in the end."
"Then learn from his mistakes."

I think the number one lesson of this book was nothing is what it seems, and while we make judgments all the time based on first impressions, the truth is we never really know who we are dealing with. While we all knew that Darrow was fighting for the rights of Reds, in this book it became clear to him that reds cannot do it alone, and that it is essential that all colors come to be treated as equals, because the hierarchy in itself was the failing point of the society.

"Home isn't where you're from, its where you find light when all grows dark."

And things went very dark very quickly and very often. There were so many characters who did not make it out of this book, and while I understand that with every loss Darrow grows more determined, some of those losses were very hard on me, and on many of the characters. I think the fact that we were able to really see how the world works was a wonderful change from the first book which dealt mainly with this ritual of the Golds. I loved that we really got to see people interacts with all the colors, and see that there is so much more to a person than the color they are born into. Sevro is the best character in this series so far, I can't believe the things he says at all the wrong times.

Go out and get this series if you haven't as yet. It is a game changer!
